A study of the report seems to in dicate that a big bounty is cheaper in the long run than a small one, the greater amount being more of an incentive for (rappers to devote their time to the work. In the years of 10J1-12-13-14, when the bounty was $.1.50, the total amounts paid were $10 55, $2227, $2441, and $2639.50 respectively, while in 1315 with the bounty raised to $3, the amount paid jumped to $5965.50, and the following year, when the bounty was reduced to $1.50 the total dropped to $1278, and in 1917 it took another drop to $1164. Then in 1918 and 1919 when the bounty was again raised to $3.00 for males and $4.00 for females, the totals went up again to ....2763 and $2709 respectively. It would bo hard to make a guess how many sheep would be left in the county by this time if no bount ies had ever been paid for predatory animals.
