O'Reilly, of Corvallis. is in Morrow county this week vis ioing the boys and girls who are engaged in the industrial club work. Accompanied by the coun ty agent he is making a home to home visit, inspecting the work of the various club members, en couraging them and completing the work started when he was in the county a few weeks ago. Morrow county has one of the strongest clubs of any county in Eastern Oregon, the list of those enrolled and reporting is a splen did indication that the boys and girls of this county realize their responsibility and the value in increasing food production. The boys' and girls' club work is be ine emphasized throughout the state more this year than ever before, and the parents who can see what their children are doing in way of increasing food pro duction cannot help feeling proud ot the way in which they are helping, and are lending them encouragement in every way possible. V. M. Castle, itistributor of water on the government irriga tion project at Irrigon was here during the week. It is not expected that' these men will close their stores, shops and offices permanently during the harvest season but it is ex pected that all will be able to de vote a portion of their time to helping the neighboring farmers save the wheat crop. Girls and women, it is expected, will be used as far as possible to handle the necessary business in the towns thus releasing everv man possible for the harvest work. Many business and profes sional men in this county have had farm experience and will therefore prove valuable assist ants to the farmers in time of harvest stress.
