' Annual School Meeting, Neerly one hundred voters attended the annual school meeting held ill this district last Monday.- Much interest was manifested iu all matters pertain ing to the school. The clerk's report waa read and listened lo with atten tion. It was unanimously approved. The board was requested to secure necessary additional school room, and also to report hi the district three dif ferent sites suitable for the erection of another building, It la Ihe purpose of the district, at some future time, to build elih'-'Mi addition to the patent building or to erect another building in some other art of the city, as may be hereafter decided. For some reason, not made known at the meeting, the committee appointed I at the last meeting wade no written report embodying a plan foi Ihe acqui sition, by purchase or otherwise, of the grounds of ttie, Santlam academy, as requested to do. It seems that the persons controlling the academy were averse to Ihe district's enquiring the grounds, and the matter has been dropped. S. O. Long and B. M.
