B laker, manager of UieShedd warehouse, was arrested in Portland last Friday by Chief of Polioe Minto, for appropriating wheat owned by farmers and atored in the warehouse. He was brought to Albany by Deputy Sheriff Wilson, and given an examina tion before Justine Freerkeen last Tues day forenoon, and waa held In the aum of $1000 bail bond to appear be fore tbe grand jury, on the charge of disposing of 9000 bushels of wheat. The state was represented by Attorney P. B. Kelly. Efforts were made to procure ball, one bond offered not be ing acoepted. Hon. B. G.
