of the items he will present in his
message on the convening of the
legislature. He will confine his
message to a detailed and exhaust
ive exhibit of state finances. He
will aliow cost of stater government
and appropriations of legislatures
for a Beries of years, as well as the
appropriation anJ amount expend
ed for each particular purpose by
the last legislature. The governor
estimates the 'total appropriation
of the last legislature at 12,700,
000, while he will show that only
about $1,800,000 of this has been
