Judge Burnett is one of the most
expeditious judges we ever saw in

cases. He does not admit of dilly
dallying or delay by the lawyers.
While Judee Burnett is a very
pleasant gentleman outside of
court, he hus the dignity and regal
bearing of a czar in the court room.
Sometimes he seems a little arbi
trary and severe in the promptness
with which he disposes of matters,
but his rulings appear just gen
erally, and by his decisive manner
he saves a great deal ol money tor
the people. It costs money to run
a circuit court, and the sooner jus
tice is meted out properly, the

It is a healthy sign to see the
suspended banks of Denver all

No doubt the Denver bankers are
men who are not slow to grab the
dilemma by the horns and fight
their way back to the ground they
have lost.
The following statement is go
ing the rounds: "It is estimated
that the melon crop of Georgia
this year will ke worth nearly a
quarter of a million dollars to the
farmers and about a hundred
thousand dollars to the rail-roads
in the stute." Very likely the to
tal amounts are not correct, but
the chauces are that the propor
tion of earnings is about right.
The farmer must run 11 risk, pay
all expenses of growing, and also
pay 10 cents for hauling 25' cents
worth of produce to market! En

The editorial prediction is made
in the last number of Harper'B
Weekly that within six months
money will be a drug in the mar
ket. We quote: "Eventually the
country must make up its mind
how to" provide for the expansion
of its circulating medium whether
by gold or by bank notes or by
government notes. But we need
not care for this now. For the
present we have currency enough;
what we need iB confidence, not
money. The panicky feeling now
causes a drain on bank reserves;
money is being withdrawn, hoard
ed, collected, by those who fear
runs and collapses. When the
normal course of things is resumed
the moiiey will flow back to the
usual depositories, bank vaults will
he filled to overflowing, and the
country will find it has more mon
ey than it knows what to do witn
This is the sequence of the finan
cial panic, regular as the sequence
of day after night. The redun
dancy will probably be greater than
ever this time, because of the rate
at which the currency supply has
grown since 1890."
