G. W. Daggett, who has been
living here for some time past,
leaves for the coast in the morn
ing. Wo learn from the Albany Herald
of this morning that the big bridge so
long spoken of is about to commence
active work, material and pile-driver
being on the ground now and a force
of men to commence to-day. This
means well for Albany. We wish
them good success as they have a
mass of very enterprising people.
U. G. Hurley, the phrenologist,
and wife, departed from our little
cjty this morning. They were
pleasant people and made many
friends.
J. S. Morgan, contractor and
builder, who resides in Albany, is
busy this morning with a force of
several men on the new brick
building to be erected for Dr.
Courtney. We undergtand the sec
ond story will be an opera house.
This means well for Lebanon.
There are several new houses
going up in Lebanon, and many
ether Jmprovemente which we will
endeavor to speak of in the near,
future,
Mr. IS, Goan is at present manii-
fncturing a fine pulpit for one of
the Oregon City churches. It is a
beauty and made of the best of ma
terial. This is the second pulpit he
has had the pleasure of construct
ing Hub season, as he supplied a
church in Plainvicw.
