Mr. Rlavens, an employe at Downing

doing well.

ing of the 27th ult. to aid Rev. J. II.
Foster, pastor of the First Baptist
church of Weston, In a series of meet
ings. Weston Is a very nice little city
of from fiOO to 750 Ihhabltants, nentled
at the foot of the Blue Mountain range,
with a tine body of fanning land around
it, and many thrifty, honest, law
iilildlnsr "sons of the soil" occupying
this large, rich domain; but to one jiihi
from the thriving and fast-growing
little city of Lebanon, Weston seems
to lie a very quit, not to say dull town.
Perhaps this extreme quietness isnuc
lunrely to tho failure of tlie crops year
before last, and the low price of grain
last year, in connection with tbe poor
facilities for transportation afforded by
the U. 1. Ry. and the high prl.-e

weather now is not very cold, hut crisp,
