Montague must be preparing for a
boom, judging by the way he is stock
ing up his Mammoth and One-Price
Cash Stores. By purchasing his goods
in such large quantities he naturally
gets much lower prices. He guaran
tees good goods in all the departments
of his extensive establishments at
prices thnt absolutely astonish other
merchants in the valfey, some of them
going so far as to sty that Montague
retails his goods as low as they buy
them at wholesale. The careful buyer
invariably goes to Montague's.
The One-Price Cash Store has be
come one of the features of Lebanon.
As everything is new and fresh, and the
prices tire so much below that charged
in credit-giving establishments, peo
ple who desire to tuy tneir goods
for cash naturally go to the corner,
where thoy do not have to make up to
the storekeeper for the non-paying cus
tomers who, when they can do so, buy
on credit, and who are constitutionally
opposed to paying for anything. Get
prices at the One-Price Cash Store and
if there is any reason in you that is the
place where you will purchase your
lupplies.

Last week we visited Sweet Home
for the tlrst time. We found It one of
the very few towns in which we should
like to pitch our tent for life. It Is lo
eated in the centre of a tine agricul
tural region. Good, pure water, an
abundance of UhiIkt and UntnUf'til
harvests give to the farmers of this
section an air of eontentiii 'ot ami a
irenial, hospital le manner net seen In
1 -ss favored districts. Messrs. Hamil
ton & Andrews are the leuding tner
c'lants in the town anil do a gtwsl biisi
nes. Mr. Allies also has a store and
receives a lilicr.d patronage. Several
new huildimrs have noon erected lately,
some few dwelling and others for
business houses. A new butcher shop
has been buiit and Is owned by John
Davis St Co. Mr. Donaen has just
completed the post ofllee building,
w hich Is neat ami commodious a. id
would Is' a credit to a town of twice
the size of SwiH't Home. There ere
t'.vn hotels in the place, at both of w hich
you will b,- well treated. It also tuip
oorts a blacksmith simp and tannery.
New-comer seeking booi'-s will find
much to recommend thi locality, and

Memorial Day In Lebanon was a
grand occasion. There was a very
large assemblage of people In town on
that day, having in view the two-fold
object of listening to the county candi
dates and participating in the memo
rial services. Judge D. It. Is. Black
burn delivered a very impressive ora
tion. C, IJ. Montague, the hero of
many a battle field on two continents,
was the grand marshal. He lias a
splendid military learing, notwith
standing his age, and looks every inch
a soldier. Mr. Montague deserves
credit for the excellent discipline en
forced on the occasiou. The music,
both vocal and Instrumental was good.
After the exercises at the M. E. church
the long procession marched to the
cemetery headed by the Iebanon
Cornet Hand. The decoration of
graves concluded the exercises of the
day. The G. A. R. and W. It. C. have
done much towards strengthening the
ties of a common brotherhood and per
petuating the names of fallen com
rades. Klrkitatrick's Park.
J. Tl. Kirkpatrick has seven or eight
men employed cutting the timber and
brush from his Iat purchase, lie owns
thirty-live acres within the city limits,
ten acres of which will Imj transformed
into a beautiful park. Four hundred
and seventy dollars have already I ecu
expended in fruit trees and ornament
al shrubbery. He will build a boat
house on the canal, which forms the
eastern boundary, and launch two
boats for the accommodation of pleas
ure seekers. His plans, which will
undoubtedly be carried out, have been
partially outlined to us and we can
see in the near future a retreat for the
over-taxed, the weary and the pleasure
seeker, no less invitiug than the more
pretentious resorts which have a
national reputation.
