IN MEMORIAM.
(Jeorge Wilson whose life has leen
despaired of for a long time passed
away on the morning of the Pith inst.,
surrounded by relatives and friends.
He was bom in Whites Sides county,
Illinois, in May, 1So7, nnd einiuigrnted
to Oregon in lsso, and has since resid
ed near Sweet Home. By his honest
and u right life he won the respect of
all who knew him and by his death we
loose one of our most estei mcd and re
spected citizens and friends. He leaves
an aged father and mother to mourn
his untimely death and many warm
friends who tender to them their heart
felt sympathy in this their sad bereave
ment. ur friend was one of those
rare and gifted souls of whom the jsn-t
inspiringly seaks that, "none knew
him but to love him, or name him only
to praise." We will not say for the
purpose of fulsome panegyric that he
had no enemy, but we do say that we
never heard man or women 8)icnk ill
of him or he seak ill of others. A
little over a year ago in blush of health
George was laid upon a bed of atlliction
and in the bust six months he has lieen
a great sufferer. Why he was cut down
in the prime of manhood none but the
creator of all things can solve. Al
though he has gone from among us his
memory will ever rest with us as one
whom we respected in life and mourn
in death.
