The Toledo ball team accepted its
second defeat this season at Salem
Sunday, when the Senators defeated
them 8 to 4. Salem got four home
runs and Toledo two. Scio defeated
Toledo earlier in the season, being
the only team that had 'vanquished
them until they met the Senators
Sunday. Quite a number from here

Bulletin have sold the plant to S. P.
Shutt, a neswpaper man of many
years experience, and immediate
possession was given. He will be
assisted by his son. Harold. M. D.
Morgan, who has been editing the
paper for several y. ar». has gone to
Idaho. We wish the new publishers
unbounded success and welcome
them to the newspaper family of
Linn county.
An alienist has found that Mur­
ray and Kelly, the convicts, are
above the average mentally, while
Willos, the other convict, is lielow
ths average. All three were found
perfectly sane. They will be tried
Oct. 5 for the murder of Guards
Holman and Sweeney. who were
killed in a prison break on Aug. 12.
Mr. and Mrs. I »an McLachlan,
who recently sold their farm west of
town, stopped in Scio for a short
time Tuesday while enroute to their
home in Portland from Shedd where
they had spent the week end.
Lawrence Montgomery and fam­
ily left Saturday for Eastern Ore­
gon and Klamath Fall» on a ten day
vacation. Darrel Montgomery is
