Albany's baseball team went to
Toledo Sunday and crossed bat* with
the team that Scio is tied with. The
local team received a good trounc­
ing. Toledo beating them 8 to 2. al­
most as bad a* Toledo beat Scio the

It is wonderful what a slogan doe*
when it catches the eve of the read­
er. If it is catchy and truthful it
is certain to be indelibly impressed
upon the mind of the reader "When
Hanks says sale he means sale" re­
quire* no explanation as to location

H. Harks has built up a splendid
dry goods butineaa with that slogan.
Business should ba good here now
since starting work on the new ad­
ministration building, the construc­
tion of the new bridge, the building
of new residences. the construction
of the Santism Highway and the

Between taking care of hie grow­
ing business, keeping the correspon­
dence of the Santiam Fish and Game

last year. So far Scio is only com­
munity not reporting either a local
fair or exhibit at the county fair.
The Albany Iron Works. from a
