POOR OLD DAD
The »and* of time are «lipping
From beneath hi« weary feet;
With life'« joy« and Borrows mingled.
He will soon lie down to sleep
The sleep that know« no waking
Until the new creative morn.
Unconscious that he ever lived.
Or for what purpose he was lft>rn
He spent his davs in weary toil
His children to clothe and fee«!.
Who oftimes In their tholleiwi moil
Caused daddy's heart to bleed,
His eve* are dim. hi* hair is gray.
He knows that aoon he’ll pass away,
Give room to other* to pursue their
way
To repeat the same old "round-de
lay”
That's been going on since Adam's
day.
Three «core year«, and then some
more.
He has carried life's heavy load.
Thru Ilf«** long and changing path
way
Over it* rough and rocky road.
He once was young, happy and gay.
Just like the young folks of today.
But now his feet are slipping.
Quietly slipping from the world
away.

Do all you can to make him happy.
Do no deeds that cause hirr. pain.
For when he la taken from you

Make his last day* brighter.
