OREGON
A pretty little squabble has been
on between the county judge aud
state highway department over the
bridge cost at Albany, it seems
that the bid for construction is sev
eral thousand dollars less than the
estimate, and the judge wants the
state to bear a part of the eountv
and city of Albany tax levy and not
take all the saving. Probably you
are right, judge, but you better stay
with the levy and smile, for the tax
might be higher some day than now
though you should win out. Linn
county might loee more by winning
than the saving would amount to.
There is a time to fight the commis
sion. but not now. when two bridges
are to he built. We've fought too of.
