Scio from Albany calling on friends,

Henry S. Nolan of Lacomb, well
known in Scio and over the county,
has announced himself as a candidate
for the office of county clerk
Mr.
Nolan says he feel* that he is well
qualified to fill the position, having
been a teacher in Linn county tor
several years. Mr. Nolan has some
ideas concerning the office that are
out of the ordinary, and we believe
will have a telling effect among the
voters. He says he thinks there is
too great a gap between the salary

the county, and that he will pie Ige

salary of that office, if he nholud be

R. L. Chandler of Albany an­
nounces in this issue of the Tribune
for the office of sheriff of Linn coun­
ty.
Mr. Chandler at present is

Last Thursday we received a pos­
tal card from C. A. Poavar, who is
located in Red Bluff. Calif., in which
he says:

Undergoes Major Operation
Mrs. Emelinr Hassler, mother of

ler, underwent a major operation
