month* show an increase in the in
cidence of typhoid fever at various
point» within the state. As is well
known this disease is generally trans
mitted through personal contact
with patients or carriers, through
i- llute.l wa'er supplies, or through
contaminated milk carelessly handled
by carriers at the dairy or on the
routes, and also by contaminated
foods that have been handled care-
lewily and exposed to flies
A study of the situation made
by the State Board of Health points

present cam-« are due to the use of
polluted waters, used for drinking

streams around industrial camps,
and contaminated wells and cisterns
n the smaller town and rural dist
ricts. Some cases are also being
reported that are evidently due to
contact with carriers who have
