him unable to work, and who has
been in the hospital at Corvallis for
sometime, was taken to the govern­
ment hospital in Portland Wednes­
day afternoon for another opera­
tion. He has had his share of op­

This mammoth enterprise of 1922
has been I official I v recorded as
"Americas ten timea greateat eir-
cus". It is a third bigger than it
was in 1921. For, in addition to
the many innovations offered then,
the present season's program num­
bers ten more trained w Id-animal
displays making twenty in all and
the most superb trained horse acts
that Europe has vet produced. The
wild-aniinal and equine displays of
1921 were introduced merely that
the Ringling Brothers might judge
of their popularity. So enthusias­
tically were thse numbers received
that the famous showmen immedi­
ately arranger] for the purchase of
the world's finest acts of this kind.
An entire equine circus was bought
outright and brought to thia country
last winter. And while the Ring­
ling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey
agents were securing this and the
trained tiger, polar bear Iron, leop­
ard and jaguar grout», they had or­
ders to engage the foremoat men
and women performers of the Eu­
ropean capitals

from city and jungle are all to be
seen with the wonder circus of 1922.
