dents in assize courts.
Mr. Baron Martin, at the Guild­
ford «Aille», was trying a man for
murder, and he summed up the
jury dead against the prisoner.
The jury, however, too a merci­
ful view of the caw and returned
a verdict of man«laughter. Baron
Martin wa» always very brief in his
sentences and never attempted to
ham w a pri-oncr’s feelings.
