Mr and Mrs 1. W Pomtroy had
<1 nte a round up last Sunday
with sons, daughters, sons-in-
law. d lUghters-in-law and grand
children, numb, ring 30 in all, in
honor of Mrs O S Pomeroy who
liv. s in Idano. A bountiful din
ner was served and a jolly good
time was had by all present.
G W Xdams of Marion, agent
for the Horticultural Fire R-lief
Insurance Company of Salem,
who was in town
Saturday,
handed the writer a check from
the company for $fi.OO, this being
a r. tinn dividend of 25 per cent
u. the board rate paid the com
I
pany for a policy the past year.
Mr Adams stated that contrary
to the understanding of some,
the policy holders cannot be as
sessed any amount in case of
fire losses, b it on the other hand
a handsome dividend is usually
declared at the end of the year,
and that in any case the company
cannot charge any more than the
board rate which is stated at the
time of the issuance of policy.
