warm and the sun shone brightly
until four in the evening when
all of a sudden it began raining
in torrents, and continued for an
hour It caught ail unawares
and several got a goo I s taking.
We are all quite sociable and all
seem to be at home, with plenty
to eat and a general g<xxl time.
These Springs are located twelve
miles east of Detroit with a fair
ly good trail, and a pack tram of
17 horses making dutlv trips
when not rained out and the river
too high to cross. The Detroit
store, run by John Outerson,
supnlies the store at the Springs
with any and everything called
for. The Pie Eater is still alive
and having the time of his life as
he gets out of lots of hard work
and the care of his garden and
berries. Still the old man misses
some of thna* lucious berries and
the good wife to do the cooking.
