SYNOPSIS
This farce is one scene of ludicrous fun from bejrinninK to
end. This farce opens with a very amusinir dialogue between
Wickerwork, the social-political crank, ant! .Mus Prune, the
literary crank. She is intent on reading him one of her
“efforts,” wnile he is eo’ially anxious to show that every
platform should be "wide enough for two." Explains his
great scheme for hatching chickens by the million and in-
staneous hatching by electricity. Fritz and Pump discuss
American society. F. explains how to dress turkevs for the
Bold British Club. W. explains he has secured (for SomCthe
patent right for fattening elixir which will enable jwultry to
live on gravel and water. Enter Pump, who says Fritz has
baked the eggs in the hatching machine. Ferd, who calls on
delicate business, gets the bounce. B. puts Fritz on guard
to keep Ferd away. Pump in league with Ferd drafts into
the "chain service.” Ferd reenters and mistakes M -s P.
for Satira. She thinks he is W. A horrid mistake. \V
makes another mistake. Re-enters Fritz, who drags out U'.;
business. Denouement.
