Kills Herders and Sheep.
Santa Fe, N. M., Oct. 26. Twenty
thousand sheep, grazing on the Cum
bers mountain rang»-, in Rio Areiba
county, 140 miles north of here, are re
ported to have perished in the blizzard
which has raged in that section during
the last three days. The storm is the
worst in years and snow is from five to
ten feet deep. Besides the great loss
of sheep, six herders are missing and
it is believed they were also frozen to 1
death.
