The Sera fair closed last night. The
exhibits of stock was good, but the gen­
eral display of products ia said to have

There is talk of having the fair at Al
'»any on account of its letter grounds
and facilities, twit this will depend upon

Courtesies have l>cen extended by the
Linn County Fair association to I oth
Albany papers. Kditor O’Brien of the
Herald honored himself by paying us a
vunt. Editor Nutting did not have time
to leave his sanctum for that porpbM

We know
the exhibit of pR'Iucta was somewhat
short.
The management should have
placed a man in the field to collect them
ju<t as Albany does when she wants to
semi an exhibit to the I*ewia anil Clark
anti the State fairs. There is thia dif

bany wants to make an exhibit she
a<ks the county to furnish the money,
and gets it too. But a short time ago
the county appropriated

it at the command of the Alliany Com-
mere al Club, for advertising purposes

of the fair. She was allowed S200. and
Judge Duncan came over, suppo»» dly,
to see if we were applying the |2uo to
i the purjsise for which it wax asked.
The Herat I editor was in attendance
at the fair. He was not one of the II,*
OX) paid attendants, for beheld a ...n
plimentary ticket. aS was granted to nil
newspaper men.
Yet his item would
lead one to suppose that the Scio peoplg
were ready to turn the fair over to Al­
bany.
The Herald man draws very
heavily upon his imagination.
He
never heard one single Scio man siy he
was in favor of removing the Fair to
Allsiny.
Of course we have kickers.
All»any had them when she held a fair,
and would have them should she under­
take the fair again.
Hut as to Scio
surrendering the Fair, there in nothing
in it except in the minds of Albany |ieo-
ple. No gentlemen. Do not lose nny
sleep over the proe|M*cts of the removal
of our Fair to Alliany.
It will never
lie done.
We will have a bigger and
lietter Fair next year.
And we will
have the field products there too. We
will do as Alliany has done—jajt a man
on salary in the field to secure the pro­
ducts.
We can, also, assure our Albany
friemlx and m H others who think the
Fair will lie removed to the county seat
that the Linn County Fair Association
will have enough money left in the
treasury after all bills are paid, in­
curred in giving the Fair of 1*.MW, to
double the premiums paid this year for
the Fair of 1909.
