the shady side of a tall, dark, dread­
fully genteel street,” may be one of a
dozen or more answering that descrip­
tion. Admiral Lord Nelson, Lord By­
ron and Turner, the celebrated painter,

and Betsey Prlgg lived In a shop In
Kingsgate street which Is now occu­
pied by a barber; Furnivals’ Inn, for­
merly one of the most picturesque
