"MOTOR MADNESS"
While Southern I'aclflc company
officials have become accustomed to
the recklessness of motorists after re
ceiving many reports of autolsts run
ning Into the sides of trains, breaking
down crossing gates and running
down ragmen warning them of ap
proaching trains, etc., they express
surprise and wonder at the latest In
stance of foolbardlness that of using
railroad tracks for a highway.
A few days ago at Barnard, Call
fornla, two machines ooculped by
eight people turned off tfce county
road at a Southern Pacific crossing.
