A heavy frost Friday night caused damage to tbe extent of sev eral thousand dollars on Lane county farms. The damage was especially heavy on river bottom lands where tomato vines, beans, potatoes and corn were nipped. Some of the extensive tomato growers said they would be compelled to replant their entire fields and beans would have to be planted again in many sections. Albany. Organization of the North western Livestock Shipper's Traffic league crystallizes a movement recent ly begun to perfect a means by which livestock men might deal unitedly with the problem of freight rates on live stock.
