Statement to the Public
On Saturday, July 24, I held nn Auction Sale acro3
the street from my store and a fair crowd attended, in
fact, a larger crowd than was expected. I plnn to hold a
series of these sales, the next to be Saturday. August 7th,
at 1:00 P. M. A list of the goods will be published in tho
next issue of The News.
On the d.ito of each sale I will pay ABOVE MARKET
PRICES for EGGS and PRODUCE in nn elfort to cause
tho farmer to stop in SPRINGFIELD. With the coopera
tlon of other businesses in town these sales could be made
a good drawing card for Springfield.
I positively stte that at the sale Saturday there was
no so-called "buy bi ding." and I further state that there
will be non3. no high bid takes the goods regardless of
cost. Any reports to the contrary are ABSOLUTELY
FALSE. I kindly ask the one or two knockers to bring
their hammer to th? next sale and auction it off. But
remember, they can't bid it in!
