There are numerous ways to make
leather waterproof. Melt together with
gentle heat equal parts of mutton
tallow and beeswax. Mix to a soft
paste with castor oil and color if de
sired with ivory black. Apply hot.
Or apply equal parts of mutton suet
and beeswax without any other in
gredients. Or mix with gentle heut
i eight ounces of raw linseed oil, four
1 ounces of suet, three ounces of wax.

half ounce of turpentine and apply
hot. Or melt one pound of tallow and
one-half pound of rosin and apply with
