F., o( the state of Oregon, and 1ta graiwl representa tive to the Sovereign Grand lodge, haa Jum returned from the meeting of the Sovereign Grand lodge session which was held In Haltlniore. Md., !u September, Representative who attended many previous sessions pro nounced this session to be the best In the history of the Sovereign Grand lodge. The city of Ilaltlmore was the birthplace of American Odd Fellow ship, It having been Instituted In this City on April 26, 1818, and the session Just closed marking the one hun dredth year of It history, was known as the centennial celebration session. One of the big public features of the session waa the parade, which took over two hours to pass a given point In this parade waa to be seen a great number of the Patriarch Mili tant, or Canton, who with their fine uniforms, swords and banners, pre sen tod a splendid military appear ance. Hundreds of floats and 49 brass bands, with many other things too numerous to mention, made up what was said to have been the most spectacular pageant, which had ever passed over the streets of the city of Ilaltlmore. Mrs. Walker accompanied Mr. Walker on the eastern trip and to gether they visited many places of In terest, among them being Chicago, Wushlngton. I). C. Philadelphia, New York, liuffalo and soma Canadian cities. Many inquiries In regard to the west were made and many people were found who are much Interested In the western section of the United States. All s6ch questions were an swered In the best possible way. The next session of the Sovereign Grand lodge will be held la Boston, Mas., in 1920, celebrating the land ing or the Pilgrims. Mr. Walker Is also a delegate to this session. CANE FAIR DIRECTORS CHOSEN The Lane County Fair Association met Inst Saturday afternoon at the county court house and elected the following officers for the ensuing -year: George Hogue, uert Simmons, George Taylor. . Emmet (Howard, Ed Zumw'alt, C. M. Young. C. E. Stew art. W. C. Yoran, A. E. Thomber, Roy Woodruff. E. M. Warren, E. R. Spen cer, Chas. Emery. A. Hampton, Ray Wood and C. S. Calef. As usual.
