The pro cceds nro to bo used In aid ot men rejected for military service because of tuberculosis, and also for the reg ularly organized work against tuber culosis in Oregon. Tho sale will be conducted by the Oregon Association for the Prevention of Tubebrculosis Tho appeal ot tho State Board of Health reads as follows: To the People ot Oregon: "War gives new importance to the work of the Oregon Association for the Preventiontion of Tuberculosis. ' Numbers of men who apply for enlist ment are rejected because of tuber culosis. Others contract the disease ,ln service and must be returned to their homes. In either instance these men must be cared for. Any other course would be inhumane. It would be uneconomic. The Oregon State Board ot Health desires most earnest ly to commend the Oregon Associa tion for the Prevention ot Tubercu losis to the support of the people of Oregon in performing this service. The association is admirably equipped. In co-operation with the State Board of Health names and addresses ot men rejected for military service be cause of tuberculosis will be secured. Each will be followed to his home. Nurses .especially trained in public health work will give him and his family instructions to aid in prevent ing the spread ot infection and to add to bis chance of overcoming the di sease. Where necessary, sanitarium care -will ' be arranged; supplies and suitable, food will be furnished. This work can only - be done if the Red Cross Christmas Seal sale conducted by the association is a success and adequate funds to meet necessary ex penses are secured.
