Thero has been quite n little con fusion in tho minds of womon of tho city nst o tho necessity for this reg istration, as to whothor this was an official registration and as to wheth er tho government could draft each woman who signs up these cards. It Is being taken at tho request of tho government but that It Is a purely voluntary matter, and that register ing Implies nothing but a moral obli gation. At any rate, whatever the reason, the last man of them Is lined up In tho allied cause. Hut thnt'a not the only remarkable fact about this unusual family. They arc all married und have families of from two to six children, but not one has claimed exemption. Kvery one of the seven was nn electrical engineer. Mrs. Tlsdall also has six daughters, two of whom aro doing hospital work while their Kugllsh husbands aro nt the front. The eldest son, John, forty, and Ed ward, twenty-seven, having both lived some years In Canada, were drafted In the Canadian force nud havo conic through many months' service In France unscathed. Trevor Hustings Tlsdall, twenty-five, la a member of the engineer corps of the Eleventh regiment, New York, which has been In Franco two mouths. The two remaining sons William, thirty, and Murk, thirty-four both res idents of Connecticut, were tuken In the recent selective draft und have passed pbyslcnl examinations.
