SATURDAY WILL BE A PROF ITABLE DAY In this day of advance in price of almost every necessity of life the consumer can appreci ate any reduction in price that will make his dollar buy more goods. For many months the merchants have, been at a great disadvantage on account of the gradual advance in all lines of merchandise and have been sel ling many articles ton a very clase margin of profit. The business men have the in terests of their patrons at heart It is their desire to give them every advantagep ossible in the price of goods but they are en titled to a fair margin of profit for their efforts in doing busi ness. If they ask more for their wares now than they sold them at a year ago it is be cause they are compelled to do 80 on account of the advance in the wholesale market. The business men of Spring field want the trade of the peo ple of this community and they are entitled to it as long as they give fair treatment and sell at reasonable prices. On Satur day September 22nd they are going to make one big day of general reductions, sell goods at close margins and make the ; hard earned dollars go as far as possible. This big day of close margins in merchandising will be of great 'advantage to Tjhe com munity at large and everybody should be prepared to purchase as heavily as possible that day. Dollar day will also be of ad vantage to the merchants and on account of the large volume of business they will do that day they can afford to sell on very close margins.
