Peery, local druggist, decrlos the value of the Southern Pa clflc grant lands, saying that the state ment that thore are numerous tracts suitable for homestead entry Is abso- .a lutclv untrue. Since Mr. Peery is wen acquainted with tho grant land coun- try, his statement should be worthy of consideration. His letter follows: A good many of the papers of the state continue when discussing the Southern Pacific land grant, to make tho Btatement that a considerable por- tlon of it is suitable for agricultural purposes and settlement. This error has been so persistently circulated and is so far from the truth that I do not understand why It is not more often disputed.
