A resolution favoring tho repeal of
tho law passed by tho last legislature

a meeting of tho county budget com
mittee held at, tho court house on
Tuesday,
Tho other Important pieces of
work accomplished at tho sarao tlmo
was tho passage of a resolution sug
gesting to tho county court that when
tho back taxes pn the O. and C. rail
road lands are received, at lcabt
$106,000 of the amount bo turned over
to the county road and bridges fund.
H. M. Potcrson, momber of the com
mittee from the Sluslaw country, In
troduced the resolution favoring tho
raising of the salaries of tho commls
solnera and after discussion It was
adopted. It reads as follows:
"Resolved that wo request our dele
gation in the legislature to repeal the
amendment passed at the last session,
which reduced the pay of our county
commissioners from $5 to 3 per day.
The committee held a long session
with the county court. The court gave
the estimates which each county offi
cial has mado as to funds necessary
to conduct his dopartmcnt of the.
county government and between now
and tho time for making up the bud
get to be published the members of
the committee will study these fig
ures. Tho members of the committee and
members of tho court will coopcrato
In working upon the budget and will
publish It as finally agreed upon be
tween them, Instead of working It
over after It is published.
The road and bridge sub-commit
