We hear much talk about us
In reference to building good
roads in Lane county and many
of the good ones could be better
than they are at the present
time. Much money has been
spent on the Pacific highway in
, this country and the county
court has tried to keep a fairly
good highway through eastern
Lane to the McKenzie pass. In
the construction of commercial
arteries in this unit of govern
ment there is one highway that
has been sadly neglected: the
road from Eugene to Florence
and the coast
The taxpayers of the western
end of the county have paid
good money into the treasury
for years and have helped to
'build some of the god roads we

ently this fact has not been ap
preciated for we have been go
ing to other counties along the
Pacific to enjoy our vacations.
With a good road to the coast
those who take their autos to
Yaquina or Seaside would not
have to go nearly so far to enjoy
the days by the sea. There is
no reason why Lane county
should not have as fine a resort
ras there is on the Oregon coast.
If we are going to develop the
.western part of our county we
