Scott, Division Equipment Engineer of the Pacific Telegraph and Telephone company, visited the mount Hood lookout station and conversed lth S. H. Hess, Transmission Engi neer, at San Francisco, California, a distance of 900 miles horizontally and nearly two miles vertically. The results of the test were so satisfactory that plans are making for a test telephono conversation between the lookout on mount Hood and the Forester, Washington, D. C. Officials of both the Forest Service and the Telephone company say that such a conversation can be successfully car ried on.
