LIVESTOCK MARKET

North Portland, Ore., The
cattle market started with a i
bang and everything moved rap
idly at an increase of 40 cents
over the previous week. Grain
fed steers sold at 8:50 while hay
feds moved at 8.15. Cows made
a splurge and quite a number of
head went at 7.50. Heifers are
to be recognized also as some
good stuf went at 7.75. Bulls
went up to the 6 cent mark,
i HOGS
The hog market was a little
slow in starting but soon picked
up at an increase in price. Two
loads of top hogs sold at 9.35
while the bulk went at 9.15. A
light run of 3,100 head were re
ceived at the yards Monday.
Market strong.
Sheep
1 There were not enough sheep
on the market for the buyers to i
take notice of. Lamb market
strong with choice lambs quoted
at 10 cents, ewes at 7.25, year
lings at 9.00 and withers at 8.75.
