And eating is simply perfunc
tory done because it must be.
This ia the common, complaint of
the dyspeptic.
If eating sparingly would cure
dyspepsia, few would suffer from it
long.
The only way to cure dyspepsia,
which is "difficult digest'on, is to
give vigor and tone to the stomach
and the whole digestive system.

lae barber shop, during his bl I milieus,

One would think that even customers
of lougest staudlng would hesitate be

of bis old customers, but has added
many new ones to bis trade since be

Mr. Max Is a young-looking, pleasant-faced

quite ready to describe the way la
which he carries on his business in
spite of his great handicap.
"I can tell whereabouts In the shop
my men are and what they are doing,
just as easily as though 1 were look

"I know them all by their step, and
when they move I can tell where they
go. Every man, as you know, has an
individual walk. Just as he has an In
dividual temperament, and as the differ
ent barbers In my shop walk about the
marble floor I know whether it Is Jim
my, who Is nervous, or George, who l
slow and very careful. It Is. of course,
easy to tell whether a man's hair or
beard Is being cut, the ring of the
shears being very different In each
case.
"I can tell when a man Is being
shaved by the scrape of the razor, and
sometimes I know whether the beard is
a stiff or a soft one.
"When a man Is having an egg sham
poo I hear the egg shell cracked and
the egg beaten and I hear the customer
go to the fountain afterward to wash
his head.
"This may seem a little farfetched.

New Jersey Fossils.
In the blue shales of a valley a few
miles from Montclalr, N. ,T are found
fossil fish of a kind which Is almost
extinct, only three specimens now sur

ganoids, which possessed no Interior
bony skeleton, but only an outside cov

They were the earliest known verte

scales of this peculiar species of. fish,
which, according to geologists, muat
have existed ages ago.
