HAWC is funded through the Federal office of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and ad- ministers several housing assistance programs that help low-income households secure decent, safe and affordable housing in Washington County. HAWC will accept applications for the Public Housing waitlist beginning at 8:00am on Monday, February 10 and ending at 5:00pm on Monday, Febru- ary 24. A random lottery will be used to select 1,500 house- holds for the Public Housing waitlist, which amounts to 500 households each for the 2-bedroom, 3-bed- room and 4-bedroom waitlists. This is not an opening of the Section 8 voucher waitlist. Only one application per household will be accepted. A random lottery will take place if more than 500 applications per bedroom size are submitted. Duplicate applications will be re- moved before the lottery. All applications received be- tween February 10 and February 24, 2020, will have an equal chance of being selected for a waitlist.
