The NHL opened its 2007-2008 season at London’s O2 Arena but has not returned. “Playing in Europe pre- sents some challenges for us that the NFL doesn’t have,” Manfred said. “It’s a lot easier for them to play in a soccer/football stadi- um, virtually impossible for us. So we do have additional challenges.”
