The site’s amenities include a play- ground, basketball court, paved trails, natural area, a small parking lot and picnic tables distributed throughout the park. There are also two areas that were not developed. The proposed improvements primarily consist of developing the two areas by installing a sand volley- ball court and a picnic shelter. In addition, a variety of ADA improvements will be in- cluded: providing an accessible route to the basket- ball court, replace the existing drinking fountain by the future picnic shelter area with an ADA year round drinking fountain, install four picnic tables at the shel- ter; two regular ones and two ADA, install one ADA pic- nic table at the playground area on a concrete pad, add companion spaces to benches concrete pads (30”x48”) and install detectable warning tracks at four street crossings. The contractor will need to coordinate with the City Electrician for the electric work, with the Engineer to determine the conditions and connection of the exist- ing perforated pipe at the future volley ball court and with the Irrigation Coordinator to determine the best way to retrofit the existing system. The contractor will be in charge of picking up the site furniture from the Parks Maintenance Facility and be responsible for its storage within 10 days from the notice to proceed.
