“Voyage to Vietnam:
Celebrating the Tet Festival”

View “Voyage to Vietnam: Celebrating the Tet Festival,” a
hands-on exhibit offering children an opportunity to discover the
beauty, sights, and sounds of Vietnam through its most
important celebration of the year — Tet — the Vietnamese New
Year. While welcoming and celebrating the Year of the Dog,
museum-goers learn about the traditions, customs, and values
exemplified by the annual celebration. On February 22 from
11:00am to 12:30pm, youth are invited to join museum staff in
partnership with librarians from the Multnomah County Library
for a bilingual storytime (Vietnamese & English). Participants
listen to classic and beloved stories from Vietnam in Vietnamese
and English and participate in an art activity. On February 24
from 10:00am to 11:30am, visitors are also invited to the museum
for special activities and to engage with students from the
International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) at Portland State
University as they talk about history, folklore, pop culture, and

“What’s in Your Cup?
Community-Brewed Culture”

the Asian Pacific American Experience (719 S King St, Seattle).
View “What’s in Your Cup? Community-Brewed Culture,” an
exhibit that looks at the beverages that have given life to
communities — from farmers and families who nurture the raw
materials to friends and kin who bond over shared drinks. The
display explores stories of the growers, scientists, and innovators
who created and continue to adapt Asian beverages so cultures

“Super Skyscrapers: The Vertical City”
Feb 21, 11pm-midnight; repeats Feb 23, 4-5am; Oregon Public
Broadcasting (OPB). Watch “Super Skyscrapers: The Vertical
City,” a show about the Shanghai Tower, which isn’t just a
skyscraper, but a vertical city — a collection of businesses,
services, and hotels all in one place, fitting a population the size of
Monaco into a footprint the size of a football field. Within its
walls, residents can literally work, rest, play, and relax in public
parks, looking up through 12 stories of clear space. And there’s
not just one, but eight of them, stacked on top of each other, all the

Dialogue: Strategies for Engaging in a Polarized Society,” a

cultural competency, facilitation skills, how to guide
conversations, and ways to foster understanding. The event is
