Watch Tomomi Mochizuki’s Ocean Waves, a subtle, poignant tale of adolescence
and teenage isolation. The film tells the story of two young people whose friendship
is tested when a new student arrives at their high school, forcing them to come to
terms with their changing relationship. The film was the first Studio Ghibli title
directed by someone other than Hayao Miyazaki or Isao Takahata. (Japan, 1993,

Folklife program

Clark College Jazz Festival
