Floating World”

“Rebels of the Floating World,” a display that
explores the complex connection between past
and present through narratives featuring a cast
of characters from pop culture, world history,
and cultural tradition. The exhibit, which
expresses visions ranging from animism to
spirit worlds to alternate dimensions in order to

“Celebrate Public Art”

Art,” a commemoration of art on all four floors of
city hall. Through December 4, the building
features 36 colorful banners showcasing all of
the City of Portland’s public art collections,
which are maintained by the Regional Arts &

MalPina Chan’s “Long Journey” (2003), Shu-Ju
Wang’s “Cosmic Laundry” (2010) and “The

Teen Anime Club at
Northwest Library
View “Garbage Paintings and Other Works,” an exhibit by Robert R. Dozono. The
painting series incorporates trash he collects on fishing trips to the Clackamas
River and elsewhere in Oregon as well as discarded packaging from his daily
household use. The artist carefully arranges the objects on large, irregularly
shaped canvasses, selectively concealing parts with oil paint, causing them to
recede into the picture plane and resolve into loose, colorful landscape images. Also
on display is a series of charcoal, ink, and watercolor drawings of a felled, 156-year-
