reproductive behaviors and biology of elephants (July 16),
orangutans (July 23), and kangaroos (July 30). Each episode
takes an in-depth look at how the animals find and woo the
opposite sex, give birth, and raise their young in extreme

Oregon Voices: Change and
Challenge in Modern Oregon History
Orangutan Diary
Currently on display, 10am-5pm (Mon-Sat), noon-5pm (Sun),
Oregon Historical Society Museum (1200 SW Park Ave,
Portland). Five years in the making, Oregon Voices: Change and
Challenge in Modern Oregon History is on view at the Oregon
Historical Society Museum. The interactive exhibit, which tells
Oregon’s story from 1950 forward, includes films, photographs,
recordings, digital documents, and interpretive graphs.

Elvis of Cambodia fundraiser
July 19, 7pm-midnight, Mekong Bistro (8200 NE Siskiyou St,
Portland). Attend a fundraising event for Elvis of Cambodia, a
documentary film examining the cultural relevance and desires
of generations of Cambodian people to keep the music and spirit
of legendary Khmer singer Sin Sisamouth alive, long after his
execution at the hands of the Khmer Rouge. In addition to
performances by the Bayon Band, singer King Soriya, and the
Cambodian Dance Troupe of Oregon, the evening includes a

exhibit highlighting early Asian-Pacific trailblazers and sites in

violence, and the everyday hardships of navigating new territory.

Jerry Inouye Memorial Golf Tournament
July 20 (deadline to register). Community members are
invited to take part in the annual Jerry Inouye Memorial Golf
