(Photo cour- tesy of the United States Postal Service) The United States Postal Service (USPS) has released a new forever stamp commemorating the Lunar New Year. The 2014 stamp, the seventh of the Celebrating Lunar New Year series, recognizes the Year of the Horse. The stamp art depicts Chinese drums with drumsticks painted red for luck. A horse appears in the upper left corner of the stamp. The stamp was designed by Kam Mak, an artist who grew up in New York City’s Chinatown. “What a great way to start the New Year,” said Mak, a professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, at a dedication event for the stamp held last week at the Chinese Culture Center inside the Hilton San Francisco Financial District - THE LAW OFFICE OF - Hotel. “The sounds of the Chinese drums have uplifted my spirit since I was a small child growing up in Hong Kong.
