A redesigned instrument pan
el with new control knobs, a
new pillar light switch on the
instrument panel and attractive
lighter instrument panel colors
which elim inate sun glare, are
featured on the 1950 Ford pas
senger cars being displayed in
Ashland at Busch Motor Co.
At each end of the instrument
panel are shield-shaped orna
ments of chrome which engi
neers call finials, designed to
brighten up the panel. And com
bining three former control
knobs, the new rounded hpater
control attached to the instru
ment panel to the right of the
steering column, adds another
touch ot bright color.
Ford engineers point out that
the 1950 Ford is the only car in
its price class to provide a pil
lar light switch on the instru
ment panel. In addition, an auto
matic courtesy light goes on
when you open either front
door of the custom deluxe mod
els.
Another feature of the 1950
Fords is a redesigned horn ring
with rounded com ers The horn
