Raiders have scheduled

games on the A shland c o u rt for
the 1949-30 hoop season, acco rd ­
ing to a schedule released by
the college late last week.
The Raiders w ill open th e ir j
season with tw o gam es a t K lam ­
ath Falls, w here they w ill play
the Oregon Tech on Dec. 2 and

On Monday night, Dec 5,
they will m eet th e fast B lue and
Gold Nuggets (O akland B ittn ­
ers) on the S o u th ern O regon
floor, with gam es also scheduled
the same week on the local floor
with Pasadena college, T h u rs­
day, Dec. 8, a n d P acific Luth-1
eran, S aturday. Dec. 10.

Trip To Chicago

Oregon 4-H club delegation to
National 4-H C lub C ongress in
Chicago, N ovem ber 27 to Dec­
em ber 2, w ill be Mrs. Eli Mc-
Conkey, A storia, a n d Jo h n L.
Jones, Bend, L. J . A llen, S ta te
4-H club leader, h a s announced.
Both are v o lu n te e r 4-H club
leaders and w ere chosen as a
result of a statew id e co n test to
pick tw o d eserving lea d e rs to
serve as official chaperones. The
two all-expense trip s a re pro­
vided an n ually by A aron F ra n k ,
Portland.
More th an 20 yo u n g sters w ill
be in th e official p a rty from
Oregon, A llen said.
Mrs. M cConkey has h ad 15
years of 4-H club lead ersh ip and
Jones, 16 years. D uring 1949,
Mrs. M cConkey led clubs in
cooking, irozen foods, canning
and garden. She has been p resi­
dent of the C latsop county local
4-H club leaders association for
two years and has also held o th ­
er offices four o th e r years. H er
own children a re fo rm e r 4-H
club m em bers and a t th e p resen t
tim e, two g randchildren a re e n ­
rolled.
Jones is p resident of th e Des­
chutes county 4-H club leaders
association for the com ing y e a r
having been re-elected to th a t
office recently. He was also p re ­
sid en t in 1940. He is a m em ber
-of th e executive com m ittee of
the sta te 4-H local leaders as­
sociation. D uring the past year
he activ ely led clubs in dairy,
beef a n d cam p cookery.
S ta te extension agents Miss
E sther T ask eru d and Burton
H utton w ill also accom pany the
O regon delegation to Chicago.
The g roup w ill leave P o rtlan d
the evening of N ovem ber 24.
They w ill re tu rn via the south­
e rn route.
