Local Y.M.C.A.
Roy Fletcher, secretary of
the local Y M C A., explained
to members of the Ashland Kl-

projects and aims of the local
Y MCA in its youth work The
Kiwanians were quests at the
Y M.C.A for their Monday noon
luncheon, which was served by
the Methodist women.
In xpeuking of the local orga­
nization Fletcher said that there
are 130 corporate members of
the local unit who make contri­
butions to the Y and have signed
the declaration'of purpose This
corporate body elects the board
of directors to conduct the busi­
ness of the local Y.M.C.A.
Within the local unit are 453
boys and girls who are members
of the five organizations spon­
sored by tiie unit These organi­
zations are broken into the Hi
Tri-Y and the Beta Hi Tri-Y for
higli school girls; The Hi Y for
high school boys; a Junior Tri-
Y for girls and Junior Hi Y for
boys, and the Crey-Y club.
In their summer program the
Y MC A serves tour churches
for handwork in their daily va­
cation Bible schools and movies
4 times each month The game
room in the building was used
last summer by more than 2800
children
During the winter months
the unit sponsors the Church
League basketball in which 160
boys take part with 60 games
being scheduled
