It is essential that wire of ade
quate size be used in all farm
buildings. Too small wires result
in loss of voltage that materially
reduces the light output of lamp
bulbs and equipment.
Care should be used to divide
the load into several circuits so
as not to overload circuit and so
that a blowing of a fuse on one
circuit may not affect all.

SAN FRANCISCO.—A 66-year-old
Chinese who came to San Francisco
49 years ago w ith $10 in his pockets
has run his w orldly fortune into
several m illions by building a
herbal empire, buying real estate,
and selling spicy night-club enter
tainment.
He is fabulous Fong Wan, known
m ainly as the “ king of the herb
alists in N orth Am erica.’’ He ac
quired his title by treating thou
sands who claimed to suffer from
almost every ailm ent known to
man.
Although his m ain business has
been herbs, Fong is m aking thou
sands in real estate and income
fro m two hotels he owns In San
Francisco plus restaurants and
night clubs.
CAIRO, EG YPT.—A ragged beg
gar who pleads for alms in the
shadow of the pyramids had a for
tune in stolen jewels. But he didn’t
know it. Police fo r months had
been hunting $80,000 in gems taken
last summer from Mrs. Nahas
Pasha, wife of the Wafdist party
leader.
F in a lly they caught the thieves.
A fter holding out u ntil the police
fed them a chicken dinner, they ad
m itted they had given many of the
jewels to a beggar named Bahluk.
The jewels were wrapped In a pack
age and the beggar didn’t know
what they were, they said. He had
been instructed to hide them.
A fter questioning, Bahluk was re
leased. “ I just never got around to
looking Inside that cloth.” h t ad
